A Research Framework to Examine the Impacts of Online Peer Review on Learning Outcomes

The impact of peer review on learning has been a significant research topic for many years. Online peer review systems enable researchers to administer peer review activities and obtain and code feedback on the process and outcomes. However, studies evaluating the use of online peer review systems are just beginning to examine impacts on learning outcomes. This paper synthesizes research from a variety of domains to develop a research framework that identifies research variables and learning outcomes, and suggests potential future research studies. This study emphasizes the role of peer review in computer science courses, but generalizes to other learning
